Learn about working with Woolly on a custom project
How It Works
1
Initial Design Phase

Option 1: A Woolly custom design

  • A 15-30 minute pro bono initial design consultation to determine minimum project requirements
  • Woolly creates up to 3 concept hand sketches
  • The client selects 1 concept
  • Woolly will provide an estimate for the selected concept

Option 2: You bring the design

  • Send the requirements via email - See Reqs
  • A 15-30 minute pro bono initial design consultation to determine minimum project requirements.
  • Woolly will provide an estimate for the selected concept

Option 3: ROM (fastest)

  • Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) can be given, however, because all requirements have not been delivered there is no guarantee on the pricing. Generally, these ROMs have a +/-20% accuracy.
  • Please send the requirement for a ROM - See More
2
Contract & Payment
  • A contract including the ROM requirements, any design sketches, and a rough timeline, is signed
  • 100% upfront payment, is made
  • Both are required to continue

Note: Finalized timeline is not determined until after the Finalized design phase is completed, on a first come first serve basis.

3
Finalize Design Phase
  • After Payment we work on finalizing the remaining requirements - See More
  • Woolly (or Interior Designer) creates a 3D rendering of the design
  • Client’s final review and approval of the design
  • 1 meeting included in the finalization phase
4
Build Phase
  • A finalized timeline is created and the building of your furniture begins!!
  • A minimum of 6-8 weeks of build time is necessary, but each project is scheduled after the design is finalized on a first come first serve basis. Multiple items within a single project adds a minimum of 2 weeks per item.
5

Initial Requirements

  • Rough Timeline for Completion: This is a date that you would like the item/s to be delivered to their location.

  • Image of Inspiration: This is an image of something similar with a similar design aesthetic and elements to what you are wanting. Calling out what inspires you is also incredibly helpful.

  • Overall Dimensions: This is the total height, Width, and Depth of the piece. This combined with the image allows me to estimate the overall material amount.

  • Wood Species: What wood species are being considered, are you fine with veneer?

  • Finish Preference: Stain/no Stain, no stain is always preferred -- what sheen, Matte/Satin/Gloss/High Gloss - Matte Or Statin preferred OR Other - paint, epoxy, etc
Final Requirements

All projects have the potential for differing requirements, but the minimum required elements below are needed to have a fixed bid.

  • 3D Mockup: A 3D model that includes every element of the product design. This often contains all dimensional aspects of the product as well,

  • Dimensions: This must include ALL dimensions needed to build the product, which includes, but is not limited to; overall height, overall width, overall depth, other build component dimensions, seat height, drawer dimensions, hardware dimensions

  • Materials: This is defined by what is being used to build the end product in totality. It includes but is not limited to, wood species and grade, hardware (drawer pulls, nobs, handle, hinges)

  • Finish: Determine what top coat finish and the sheen of that finish is being applied and any stains or other treatments that are being done. Samples are made and approved.
